What if…your business strategist challenged you to think BIG, invest in yourself and hire to win business?

From my experience as a business strategist and executive coach, too many top executives have the self limiting belief that ‘only they can do it’.

They also often run out of inspiration to think creatively so they keep on doing what they’ve always done and, guess what?- they keep on getting what they’ve always got.

Take these three simple steps to grow your business faster and increase your wealth. Think big, invest in yourself and hire to win business.

  1. Think BIG Don’t confine your thinking when it comes to growing sales – think how to sell to as many customers as possible. A business owner with a successful van sales operation supplying the specialist retail trade was pondering whether to add another van when his Vistage group challenged his thinking and suggested turning the vans into weekend mobile showrooms offering special promotional displays deal to selected high potential retails. The group also suggested using the mobile showroom idea to promote product at local shows, events and fairs to reach a wider market. These ideas are far cheaper than the putting on an extra van and extend the customer base into new areas.
  2. Invest in yourself Embark on webinars, speed coaching, business mentoring, mastermind group membership.  An investment of £6000 – £8000 will break the business growth barrier. Members of my Vistage group have on average increased turnover by 50 per cent and doubled profits in less than three years.
  3. Hiring to Win Business You can’t do it all yourself. The owner of a specialist vending operation was reluctant to invest in a top flight sales director preferring to promote from within. When this failed he hired the sales manager from a larger competitor. The owner now readily admits this was his best business growth decision ever. The new sales director has raised everyone’s expectations, challenged the sales people to think bigger and differently, and introduced new sales and marketing techniques. The combination of this has resulted in positive enquiries from several large potential customers and increased sales to existing customers.
